Banner Show Document (Save and Print File)
Following the rollout of Banner 9 Self-Service (SSB9) and the permanent shutdown of Banner 8 Self-Service, the “Show Document (Save and Print File)” function under the GJIREVO → Tools menu no longer opens output files directly in a browser tab.
This change impacts users who previously viewed Banner Job Submission (Jobsub) output (.lis or .log files) through the web interface. While in-browser viewing is no longer supported, users can still access and review these files by downloading them to their computer.
What Changed
Previous Behavior (Banner 8 Self-Service):
Selecting Show Document (Save and Print File) opened the output directly in a new browser tab.
New Behavior (Banner 9 Self-Service):
The same option now prompts a download process. The output must be saved locally and opened in a text editor (e.g., Notepad, Notepad++, or another viewer).
Note: The Export to Excel function continues to operate as before.
How to View Jobsub Output Files
Follow the steps below to download and open your Banner Job Submission output files (.lis or .log):
In GJIREVO, open the Tools menu.

Select Show Document (Save and Print File).

A pop-up window will appear — click Save File.

Two additional pop-ups will display:

Important: Click Save on the File Explorer window first.

After saving, click OK on the light blue Banner notification window.

Close the original pop-up window.

Locate the downloaded file in your Downloads folder and open it using a text editor.
Troubleshooting
If you receive the following error message:
*ERROR* User USERNAME not authorized to access GUQWUTL
Your Banner security settings may need to be updated.
Please submit a ticket to the IT Help Desk and include:
Your username
A screenshot of the error, if possible
A note that you were attempting to use the Show Document (Save and Print File) option in GJIREVO
