Technical Issues
If faculty are having trouble accessing the syllabus or are getting a message saying that they are not authorized to edit a syllabus, please have the faculty member contact curriculum@stlcc.edu. All SYL issues or questions should be directed to curriculum@stlcc.edu.
Editing Your Syllabus
Please be sure you are editing only the current semester syllabi. We have had a few people who have edited their previous semester's syllabi on accident. Please be sure to choose the current semester in the advanced search section when you are searching for your syllabi.
Also, course learning outcomes populate for your course automatically onto your syllabus. You do not need to type those into the syllabus. If your course learning outcomes are not appearing, you are not working with the correct template. Please see page 4 of the SYL Guide for more information about choosing the correct template.
Sharing Your Syllabus with Students
Once you have published your syllabus, you can share your syllabus by either giving students the URL to the public/viewing site or downloading a PDF for them. Please be sure that you share the correct URL with students. The public/viewing site URL for SYL begins with syllabi.stlcc.edu, and will be followed by your course information. Do not give students the URL of the editing site that begins with nextcatalog.stlcc.edu. Please see pages 15-16 of the SYL Guide for more information about publishing and sharing your syllabus.
Training
There are lots of videos and a SYL Guide available on the Curriculum & Assessment website. If you were not able to attend a training session, please view the training materials.
