DISCLAIMER:
Password changes also are not instantaneous for all systems. Please allow up to 5 minutes after a password change before trying to log into a computer and allow up to 30 minutes after the change before trying email.
-
For the accounts that are re-enabled it is not instantaneous for the email account to be turned on, this could be up to an hour. This could be as little as 5-10 mins however.

- Password changes also are not instantaneous for email.
- Current password sync technology typically takes 1-3 minutes. Prior technology (retired with FIM 2010) was often within seconds, but there were scenarios in which it would either fail initially and succeed after several retries or sometimes fail permanently. I’m not aware of a user-impacting password sync failure since we started using Azure AD Connect.
- Are alumni granted permanent email accounts (never expiring, 50GB storage)?
- For people that pay, - When an alumni pays their membership, their accounts just becomes active again. The student then has to keep it active, the same rules apply as an active student.
- When are student email accounts disabled? How long will students have access to their account after leaving the college?
- If they are credit classes, then indefinitely if they change their password at least once a year and are active in the college.
- Once students register, the account stays enabled as long as they change passwords at least once a year. If they don’t keep it active, it can be disabled starting a few semesters after they last attended (updated requirement from Enrollment Management…requirements are a little convoluted). Accounts are disabled daily based on the previous activity date.
