Troubleshooting MFA Pin Issues
How do I sign out of Microsoft Authenticator?
- Click the 3 line menu on the top left of the Microsoft Authenticator App
- Select Edit Accounts
- Click the red dot with the minus sign next to the account you wish to remove
- Select Remove Account
- Select either Yes, this app only or All apps on this device
- You are now signed out of the Microsoft Authenticator App
I am not getting the pin code notices
- Check that the Microsoft Authenticator App is installed and open
- Check that notifications are allowed for Microsoft Authenticator
- Check to make sure you are connected to either LTE or Wi-fi
I am not able to scan the QR code during set up
- Check to make sure you are connected to either LTE or Wi-fi
- In order to use the QR code available on the MFA Set up page, please make sure to use Microsoft Authenticator App
I am not getting the pin code notices through a voice call
Please note, call forwarding and Google Voice numbers will not work in obtaining your pin code. IT highly recommends using the Microsoft Authenticator app for best results
- Check the number that you have selected to receive the call from
- Check to make sure your phone is not in Do Not Disturbed
- Turn off any call forwarding you may turned on for the phone number
I also teach for a different university, can I access their Office 365 accounts at the same time?
- Yes, however you may experience some issues getting logged in for the first time. We suggest using Google Chrome in Incognito mode to prevent log in issues.You will also want to ensure you complete log out between login sessions.
