Work remotely from a personal system using work.stlcc.edu
Many of the College's systems are available from anywhere you have an internet connection. Often you can complete much or all of your work from a personal laptop or computer. When contacting the Help Desk for a remote work solution, know what you work with on a day-to-day basis. Some may require additional planning or specialized solutions to access critical work systems.
If you don't have access to a College laptop, you can still complete most of your work remotely from a personal computer or laptop by using work.stlcc.edu. Please follow our guidelines for being secure at home. You can move critical files to OneDrive, and then access them from home using your personal computer or laptop by signing in to office365.stlcc.edu.
Use the work.stlcc.edu remote work portal to accomplish any of you work duties.
Banner Access: You can accomplish most tasks in Banner as you would from your work computer through the remote work portal. The one exception is BDM. If you need to process images through BDM, then you will need to use a virtual desktop. Simply log in to work.stlcc.edu and select "Banner 9."
Banner Reporting: You can access Banner Reporting just as you would from a work computer. Simply log in to work.stlcc.edu and select "Cognos Reporting."
Collegeweb: Almost anything you can access from Collegeweb, you can access through the remote work portal, just like sitting at a work computer. Simply log in to work.stlcc.edu and select "CollegeWeb."
Microsoft 365 and Teams: Do not use work.stlcc.edu to access Microsoft Office 365 or Teams. Simply log in to Microsoft 365 from your personal computer. The remote-work portal will not work with meeting audio or headsets.
Virtual Desktops: For all other specialized applications or work resources such as P: and O: drives, use a virtual desktop - it's a full-blown virtual computer that runs in your web browser.
- Select "Virtual Desktops."

- Log in using your email address.

- Select "STLCC Remote..." to start your virtual desktop.

Click "Allow" when prompted to allow work.stlcc.edu to see text and images copied to the clipboard. This will allow you to use copy and paste between your system and the virtual computer.

That's it! A virtual computer will start and logon in your web browser. Now you can do almost anything that you could from a work computer. What now? Check out our tips on copy/paste and multi-monitor support.
