Enscape Plugin Issues Important Materials Problem: Often when a user attempts to import a new material in Enscape, they will receive an error stating "Import Failed. An error occurred while importing materials. Some materials could not be imported." Solution: While the issue appears to be an ongoing glitch/error with Enscape itself (specifically with the default location where Materials are stored), a concrete solution to which has yet to be found by the developer, we have found a viable workaround. Each user would need to do this on a given computer (so if they swap machines, they'd need to perform the steps below again). Sign into the machine and launch Sketchup (or Revit, or whichever application is using the Enscape plugin). From the Extensions tab at the top of the application, select Enscape -> Materials Library. At the bottom, left-hand corner of the Materials Library, click on the gear icon. The current materials storage location will be displayed as a clickable link. Click on it, and a file explorer window will open. Navigate to This PC, select the Windows C: drive -> Users -> [username]. Create a new folder under the user profile named "Enscape." Highlight the new "Enscape" folder and click on the "Select folder" button. Now all of your materials will save here instead of the default storage location. Go back to the Material Library and try again to import materials. It should work now.
